ventunesimo is an international artist residency program that takes place in September in the Cascina San Clemente complex (Occhieppo Inferiore, Biella).
The program is aimed at emerging artists interested in deepening their practice. The aim of the residency is to privilege the creative process in favor of artistic research.
Born from the twenty-year experience of the Occhieppo Inferiore International Symposium of Contemporary Art, the program involves emerging artists selected by a panel of arts professionals through an open call.
The selected candidates will develop a project idea in three weeks to be presented in the final open studio. This research may continue in the following year, with the support of a team of curators, to create the works that will be exhibited in the next edition of the residency.
During the residency period, artists will be able to participate in collateral events, talks and organized studio visits. Ventunesimo works closely with the Tourist Association Pro Loco of Occhieppo Inferiore, which is committed to promoting the territory and which participates in the planning of events related to the residency. By virtue of this collaboration, the local community of Occhieppo Inferiore makes its homes available to guarantee hospitality to the selected artists.
